Feel the Cube
Artwork Description
Feel the Cube is an interactive installation designed to spotlight the crucial importance of mental self-care. Conceived in a world recovering from the global pandemic, this unique experience uses sensory interactivity to foster emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
Currently, Feel the Cube comprises two chapters—Haptic and Auditory—with future additions such as Olfactory in the planning stages.
In the Haptic chapter, participants engage in a creative process, symbolizing the complex workings of the human mind. Pushing oneself too hard triggers a shift in the cube's color to a warning red. However, if there's a long period of inactivity or peak stress levels are reached, the installation transitions to the Auditory chapter.
The Auditory chapter simulates a therapy session. It begins with probing questions about your mental health, displayed on the left side of the screen. Participants can answer these questions aloud through any connected microphone, with responses appearing on the right side of the screen. Click anywhere on the screen to continue to the next question.
Answering these questions can cause stress levels to rise, reflecting the challenge of self-exposure, even in the context of interaction with a machine. Once stress has accumulated, participants have a chance for catharsis. They are encouraged to scream, releasing the accumulated stress and pressure.
Toward the end of the gameplay, participants will receive a file that documents their journey through this therapeutic interaction.
